It's an adorable book and it covers a whole lot! Our first science unit is on structures of life where they study seeds so it ties to that wonderfully. Also, there a ton of ways to compare the students to seeds and Miss Maple to the teacher. Lastly, it really hits on the idea that everyone needs different things in order to thrive and grow which is a great message into the whole "fair does not mean equal" talk. I just love it! Thanks again for this great comprehensive list!
Kelli
Tales of a TeacherKellihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13438678516310285662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1133451926057471073.post-17947890104667399302014-08-30T15:14:11.474-07:002014-08-30T15:14:11.474-07:00You are an amazing resource!! Thanks for the free ...You are an amazing resource!! Thanks for the free book list. Many of the books you listed are also my favorites!!

My favorite book as a read aloud is Wonder, but last year most of the teachers at my school read it to their classes because we all had loved it & it was great to have a common book to discuss school-wide. A friend of mine's school read The One and Only Ivan school-wide. I find that my classes always love Andrew Clements books, particularly The Landry News and The Report Card. A quick beginning of the year that's hilarious is Jake Drake, Teacher's Pet (also by Clements).

Thanks for sharing all your book knowledge!! :)Kathie @Tried and True Teaching Toolshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11215427237821500274noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1133451926057471073.post-3474217099287384472014-08-19T20:44:37.375-07:002014-08-19T20:44:37.375-07:00Oh my gosh Courtney!
